Workshop 4: THE SOUTH AFRICAN STORY

The workshop will venture into story telling from a Woman's Perspective using oral traditions, African myths and book adaptations for screen. Women will be able to share their fears and aspirations in a cooperative but also challenging environment. From this workshop the participants will be able to:

  • Recognise a good script/story
  • Learn the procedure in Acquiring rights to make script from a book/ Copyright, intellectual Property law, Common practice in South Africa
  • Negotiating and contracts
  • Able to tell who the target audience of the script/film
  • The relationship between the producer and a writer
