Amongst other objectives WOS aims to increase its membership base, as we believe that if all women stand together in one voice, then munch can be achieved to ensure that women are given platform to let their voices and their stories heard and therefore create female role models for the aspiring women filmmakers, in a male dominated industry.

• A Monthly news letter to disseminate latest industry infomation
• Representation in other industry bodies to insure that we are in the forefront of understanding the dynamic to the industry in SA.
• Insuring networks with other women organisations through out the world - this is done through Women In Film and Television international (WIFTI) in which WOS is part of the board.
• Insure a women's focus and inclusion in a male domain
• Free or Discounted rate to WoS events i.e. Workshops, Seminars, Screenings
• Facilitate mentorship's, and job placements 
• Endorse members application for funding
• WOS has a website and facebook profile for members to advertise themselves/companies, their films and communicate fellow members etc.
• We promote member's product through various screening platforms; WoS-Last Thursday Showcase platform - Women's Arts Fetival, and assist in sending member's films to different national and International film festivals
• Help with the distribution of member's product - WOS is in close relations with Women Make Movies - a New York based distributor of films made by women through out the world.
